APSU is a video installation developed as part of the solo exhibition and research project ARURA, exploring transitional forms, biodiversity, and the fractal geometries embedded in natural systems.
The work is driven by the ceaseless motion of water, an elemental force and universal symbol of life. Inspired by Sumerian and Akkadian cosmology, where “Apsu” represents the primordial freshwater source from which existence emerges, the installation investigates water as both a physical phenomenon and a mythological archetype.
Through generative systems and computational processes, fluid motion is translated into evolving visual structures. Flow becomes geometry; turbulence becomes form. The installation transforms the symbolic essence of water into a dynamic digital environment, inviting reflection on continuity, transformation, and the interconnectedness of living systems.
